To achieve our objectives we have started the following:

• collaboration with the public and private sectors to promote public environmental awareness and management;
• established the Hong Kong Green Label Scheme (HKGLS) as a standard for consumers to identify products and services that are more environmental-friendly
• established the HKGLS established the Hong Kong Green Purchasing Charter to raise awareness and promote the use of green purchasing as a means to reduce and avoid adverse environmental impacts
• encourage schools to incorporate more environmental issues in their syllabus and to participate in extra curriculum activities promoting environmental protection.
• undertake, organize and support research programs and promote the results of these innovative, and progressive ideas throughout the community
• developed the Cyber Green Centre, an Environmental Design Information Database, containing information on a wide variety of products, materials etc. which are more environmental preferable than other similar products in the market
• organize talks, seminars, forums and symposiums in collaboration with education institutions and experts in relevant fields sharing their valuable experience and knowledge, such as:- Green Student Camp and IAQ Symposium
• organize and coordinate the Green Carnivals, Eco-model Tournaments and the International Coastal Cleanup to promote environmental education.

We are in active preparation for the following :

• Green Purchasing Network : To encourage green procurement and consumption, we are initiating a “Green Purchasing Network”, aiming to create a close connection between organizations which practice green procurement and environmentally preferable products suppliers. We hope to increase the popularity of environmentally preferable products and thereby reducing the stress to local air quality and landfills, as well as impacts on other environmental aspects.
